UNITY IN CHRIST: DIVING DEEPER

Dealing With Dark Days

During these pandemic days, many of us have dealt with, or we are still dealing with opportunities for change in our lives. These changes may be the result of several factors being totally out of our control. The most important problem we tend to be dealing with, is how we handle these changes, or how we view them. Do we view the changes we have experienced or continue to experience as being positive or negative? As Christians, we would hope to put our trust in Jesus, and realize that whatever happens in this world, our faith should not be moved, God is ALWAYS in control. This will be where Diving Deeper into our faith and into the word of God will keep our hearts and minds focused on The One who sustains us daily. The righteous word of God will keep our thoughts and minds on the POSITIVE.

When you pass through the waters, I will be with you;
    and through the rivers, they shall not overwhelm you;
when you walk through fire you shall not be burned,
    and the flame shall not consume you.
For I am the Lord your God,
    the Holy One of Israel, your Savior.
Isaiah 43:2-3

Seek The Positive

In my daily reading of all types of media, the Bible, blogs, social media, articles (many varieties), books, etc., there are so many reactions by my fellow Christian brothers and sisters that haunt me. We tend to yell and scream about things in which we have no control over when we could use that same energy and focus on the positive. If we are suddenly faced with more time on our hands than normal, why not take that time to share more about our Lord, share more about the GOOD THINGS, instead of complaining about what we cannot do? We probably would use the same amount of energy, but which one has a positive affect? Why not also take that time to learn new things, finish projects, talk to friends who may need some company (phone, internet), spend more time in prayer or even reflect on the things God has promised us?

6 I pray that the sharing of your faith may become effective for the full knowledge of every good thing that is in us for the sake of Christ. Philemon 1:6

Over the past months, I have heard a few folks complain about having to be inside. Just because we might be at home does not mean we have to stay indoors. There have been commercials lately about getting out and playing tennis, yes, why not? We can social distance in tennis, and there are also many other activities we can do, as we can still social distance from each other. We CAN be positive about it, yes, we can!

Some have taken new opportunities to study and learn a new skill, write a book, write a blog (smile) or just focus on getting better at what you already do. Positive focus promotes Unity in Christ, not division. We have a choice as to how we present ourselves to others and more importantly, how we present ourselves to God. When we focus on presenting ourselves to God in a godly or righteous manner, how others see or experience us will already be taken care of.

10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them. Ephesians 2:10

Dive Deeper

Whatever the situation may be with our current world problems, if we choose to dive deeper into the word of God, focus on understanding the word, and sharing our thoughts, we will truly be more positive in our daily lives. God does have plans for each of us, we choose to seek and follow those plans or choose to ignore them to go our own way. By diving deeper in prayer, in our Bible study or by focusing more on our daily devotions to God, we will see more positive opportunities unfold in our lives.
