How often do we take our breath for granted? We don’t realise the essence of breathing till we run out of it, right? But this breath that we have in our lungs is not even ours. Now you may or may not agree on this, but that is the truth. In Genesis 2:7 reads Then the LORD God formed man of dust from the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living being.
When we breathe in, we breathe God. And when we breathe out , we pour out praise. God is so personal that He gave his very breath for us to have life. When we lose our focus with God we start to lose our breath in Him. We start to live on artificial ventilators like our jobs, car, or movie, to fantasy football, Xbox Live, a magazine or even our time spent on social media. The worldly pleasures slowly becomes our pattern of breathing and later leads to a sedated life. Which makes room for depression, anxiety, fear and even suicidal thoughts. We need to realise that we are not fighting in the flesh but in the spirit. Job 32:8 reads, “But it is a spirit in man, And the breath of the Almighty gives them understanding.
We are called to live in Him, depend on Him and stand for Him. In moments of overwhelming uncertainties and confusions, JUST BREATH because the very breath of God is in you and me. In case you are gasping for breath and haven’t heard from God then let’s ask this question:
When was the last time I was still enough to hear the breath of GOD?
